Setting default mail client windows 73/15/2024 When it needs to work with Outlook it calls it and it expects it to just open up. The reason I need this is that I have a program that works with Outlook. Even if there is a script to do this then I would like to have that. If you know how to set Outlook 2010 as the default automatically then please let me know. The error I just quoted is from the registry HKLM/SOFTWARE/Clients/Mail /PreFirstR un. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.*Microsoft Office Outlook". ![]() The strange thing is that each time I try to call Outlook, I get a Windows message saying, "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. This is as far as I have gotten in trying to figure out how to make Outlook 2010 (32bit) the default email program for Windows 7 (圆4). EXE\" -c IPM.Note /m \"%1\""īut, neither of these changes make Outlook my default program for Windows 7. ![]() I also set this registry key: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\ shell\open 1\\Office1 4\\OUTLOOK. I have gone into the registry and set "HKLM/SOFTWARE/Clients/Mai l" and set the Default value to "Microsoft Outlook" but this did not help. This doesn't seem to be an easy thing to do. I am trying to find a way to make Outlook 2010 (32bit) the default email client for Windows 7 (圆4) automatically.
